Noted Carnatic singer Aruna Sairam inaugurated the five-day fair
The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show 2013 was inaugurated at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, on Thursday morning.
Noted Carnatic singer Aruna Sairam inaugurated the five-day fair and visited the stalls in the exhibition centre.
“I was pleasantly surprised at the amazing range of products on display. I am proud we are not only adept at manufacturing and retailing such an international range of sophisticated products, but also that our indigenous products are given equal importance. I am amazed at the innovations achieved in jute products, with laptop bags, designer handbags and the like,” Ms. Sairam said.
The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show is in its tenth edition this year. It is spread across 12,000 square metres and features 250 stalls exhibiting consumer electronics, home appliances, furniture and furnishings, bathroom fittings, kitchen accessories, arts and handicrafts, automobiles and accessories, beauty and health products, luxurious home needs and interiors, fashion products, textiles and jewellery, computer and IT products, insurance and banking options, resorts and hotels and several allied products.
There is also an international pavilion with representation from Thailand, Nepal and Turkey. The exhibition is on till June 3, from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. The title sponsor for the event is Samsung and co-sponsors are Vasanth & Co. and Prestige.
Vivekananda Coffee is the beverage partner, K Lite is the lighting partner, and IAds and Events is the event partner.
